Our environmental protection

CMC Poland is one of the largest steel manufacturers in EAF process and metals recyclers in Poland, and we take seriously our responsibility for protecting the environment. We value the communities in which we operate and live.

That’s why:

• we are committed to conducting business in a manner that supports and promotes environmental responsibility
• we continuously optimize: consumption of electric energy, gas, including consumption of non-renewable natural resources to minimize the impact on natural environment
• we implement state-of-the-art low-emission technological solutions in our production processes
• steel scrap makes up more than 92% of charge material
• 98% of charge material is supplied from locations situated within 800 kilometers distance
• we reuse waste heat from production processes for social purposes
• we recycle scrap coming from:
  • dismantling of end-of-life vehicles
  • scrap in processing of waste electric and electronic equipment
  • packaging
  • demolition of steel construction
• waste generated in our production processes is further used for production of other goods and materials which gives us opportunity to limit the use of non-renewable natural resources
• waste generated at CMC Poland sp. z o.o. containing a biomass fraction has been certified under the KZR INiG system
• our products, completing their product life cycle, can be recycled many times without losing their material parameters
• green space make up 25% of CMC Poland Sp. z o.o.'s company premises
